This is a hands-on tour. You will click through the live demo yourself, step by step, while this guide tells you exactly what to do. By the end you will have moved through the report wizard, drafted sections with AI, and exported a finished annual report.
Put the demo on one side and this walkthrough on the other so you can read a step and do it without flipping back and forth. Two monitors works best. On one screen, snap each window to half: click the demo window and press ⊞ + ←, then this window and press ⊞ + → (on Windows). The demo opens in a new tab when you click Launch the demo above.
The demo is a fully working copy of Annual Report loaded with sample data. There is no sign-in and nothing you do is saved to a real account, so click freely and experiment. You will see a red DEMO MODE bar across the top with a Reset button if you ever want a clean slate.
An annual report can feel like a huge project. This app breaks it into a guided wizard, so you fill one section at a time and always know what is left, then it assembles and exports the whole thing.
Your task: produce this year's annual report. You have the numbers and the highlights in your head; you just need them shaped into a polished, donor-facing report. We will let the wizard guide each section and let AI do the heavy writing.
When the demo opens you land on the Dashboard. The left sidebar holds AI Automations under Dashboard, then My Reports, Start a Report, the Report Wizard, Build & Export, and a Learn group with Course Modules.
Do this: Look around the dashboard and the sidebar so you know where each tool lives before we start.
Why it matters: a strong annual report is one of the best stewardship pieces a nonprofit produces. This app makes it achievable for a one-person shop.
In the sidebar, click Report Wizard. Instead of facing a blank document, the wizard walks you through every section of an annual report in order, with a numbered step bar across the top that shows green checkmarks as you finish each one.
Do this: Open the Report Wizard. Notice the step bar and that you can click any step to jump, or use Save & Continue to move forward. It resumes at the first unfinished section.
Why it matters: the step bar turns an intimidating project into a clear checklist you can finish in sittings.
Work through the steps: the leadership letter, your mission, a year-at-a-glance, your programs, the financials, and the back-cover call to action. Each step is a simple form, and the data you enter feeds the finished report.
Do this: On the Programs step, add a program with a short description and a result. On the Year at a Glance step, enter a couple of headline numbers. Save as you go.
Why it matters: supporters want to see what their gifts accomplished. These sections turn your year into a story of impact.
Each writing-heavy step has an AI panel. The AI can draft your leadership letter, polish your mission, write program narratives from a few facts, suggest a year-at-a-glance intro, and write the back-cover call to action. You always review and edit before it goes in.
Do this: On the leadership-letter step, open the AI panel and draft a letter, then apply it. Note the plan-tier chip showing which plan each automation belongs to after beta.
Why it matters: the writing is the part most people dread. The AI gives you a strong first draft so your time goes to refining, not staring at a blank page.
Reach the final step, Build & Export. The Full Report Compiler can draft every section at once from what you have entered, then you review and apply each piece. From here you export the finished report.
Do this: On Build & Export, run the Full Report Compiler, apply the sections you like, and export the report. Outputs offer Copy, Word, Text, Print, and Email.
Why it matters: this is where everything comes together into a single polished document, ready to send to donors and your board.
Click My Reports to see every report you are working on; opening one drops you back into the wizard where you left off. Under the Learn group, Course Modules covers why annual reports matter and how to write, design, and share them.
Do this: Open My Reports to see your report listed, then open Course Modules and read a lesson. Progress is tracked as you go.
Why it matters: producing a report every year builds donor trust. The course helps each one land better than the last.
You just moved through the report wizard, drafted sections with AI, and exported a finished annual report, using the same tools you would use for your real report. Explore any other part of the demo, or reset it and try it your own way.
