AI Automations Guide
The Annual Report app drafts the writing for you. You provide the facts in the Report Wizard; the AI turns them into polished, donor-friendly prose that you review, edit, and apply.
How AI Automations Work
Each writing-heavy step of the Report Wizard includes a Draft with AI button. The automation sends only the facts you typed into that step (plus your organization name and report year) to the drafting service, and returns an editable draft. Nothing is inserted into your report until you click Insert or Apply, and existing text is never replaced without a confirmation.
- You are the editor. Drafts use only what you entered and mark anything unknown with [brackets]. Verify names, numbers, and tone before publishing.
- Every output offers Copy, Text (.txt), Print, Word (.docx), and Email, plus Insert into the report where there is a matching field.
- Pricing: free for everyone during the beta, then part of a paid plan. The colored chip on each automation shows its planned tier.
Back Cover & Call to Action Autopilot
On the Back Cover & CTA step, fill in your contact details, website, and giving information, then click Draft closing & CTA. The automation writes a short closing message that thanks the reader plus a clear call to action (give, volunteer, follow, contact). Insert places it in the Call to Action field.
Executive Director Letter Drafter Autopilot Pro
The letter from leadership is the page most people put off writing. On the Letter step, the AI panel prefills a highlights list from your Year at a Glance stats and program names; adjust it, add anything missing (a challenge faced, a look ahead), and click Draft letter.
The draft opens in first person from the signer you entered, leads with gratitude, touches highlights and challenges honestly, and closes warmly with the signer's name and role. Edit it in the preview, then Insert into the letter body.
Full Report Compiler Autopilot Max
The flagship. On the Build & Export step, one click drafts every narrative section of the report at once from everything you entered in the wizard: the leadership letter, a polished mission statement, a Year at a Glance intro line, a narrative for every program, and the back cover call to action.
The review screen shows each piece with its own Apply button (or Apply all). Applying replaces that section's current text after a confirmation; then walk the wizard steps to fine-tune each section. Enter your facts first; the compiler can only write from what the wizard contains.
Mission & Values Polish Included
On the Mission & Values step, type your current mission, vision, and values drafts, then click Polish my drafts. The automation refines the language (plain, powerful, one or two sentences for the mission) while staying faithful to what you wrote; it polishes, it does not reinvent. Apply replaces the mission field; copy the vision and values portions into their fields as you like.
Program Narrative Drafter Autopilot
On the Programs & Impact step, each program you have added gets its own Draft narrative button. The automation turns that program's description, results, and story notes into 2 to 3 polished paragraphs: what it does, who it serves, what happened this year (your numbers, unchanged), and one forward-looking sentence. Insert places the draft in that program's description, which flows straight into the built report.
Year at a Glance Highlights Autopilot
Stats land harder with a headline. After you enter your Year at a Glance numbers, Suggest highlights returns a punchy 3-to-6-word headline and a one-line context sentence for each stat, plus a suggested section intro. Your numbers are kept exactly as entered. This one is a suggestion sheet: copy the phrasings you like into your stat labels and subtitles.
AI drafts are writing assistance, not facts: review every draft before publishing. The Annual Report app is part of Build Your Club.
